Those people really want to know just one thing how much is it going to cost, well using the technology of the Internet we have come up with a way that you can work out the cost for yourself without even contacting us beforehand, this is how it works.

There are three ways that the cost will be calculated.

1. Minimum charge is £50

2. As our operational base is in Tavistock, Devon. Definitions for journey costs are based around the distance for Tavistock to the sorces location of the motorbike or in the delivery location of the motorbike. (Whichever is longest) and the distance between the pickup location and the drop-off destination.
You can either examined the section that refers to cost and calculating cost, or just send us an e-mail stating the location of the motorbike and the desired delivery location (preferably with postcodes) and I will send you pricing a quote.

3. If the journey time exceeds 10 hours travelling such distances are done by direct quotation only.

Payment is expected in full before the goods are unloaded. There are no exceptions.
Payments can be made in full in advance for a that will give a discount of 10% but this offer is only available, on advance payment only.

Booking and Quotation.

The Motorbike Movers, work on a first come first serve principle, any particular quotation in based around a particular date of availability. A booking is only confirmed on a downpayment as other clientele may require transporting on the same date, and the first to pay the downpayment, becomes the first to reserve that particular date.

Easy and Reliable
How we like to do it how we do, do it.

Ideally we would like to have a prearranged time to pickup with at least one landline number and at least one mobile number to contact if there is problems. Also it is useful if the person waiting for pickup has some flexibility in timing just in case there is some road problems or obstructions that delay are progress (as these are factors we cannot control).

We need to know the weight of the motorbike and the wheel base Length, as our trailer system has a limited capacity in weight load, and can only accommodate motorbikes within a certain length. Abnormally long motorbikes cannot be accommodated by our standard transporting methods, other arrangements can be made but only with advanced warning.
Abnormal loads require abnormal methods this will reflect in any quotation. if you failed to inform us of a abnormal load and then expect us to transport and abnormal load unprepared you can expect us to refuse to load such other abnormal load. our equipment is legally usable within certain load factors, exceed those load factors, and our standard equipment would not be appropriately covered by insurance, therefore it is necessary for abnormal loads to use different equipment from the standard load equipment which has to specially prepared which reflects directly to the cost to us. As our heavy load equipment is more expensive to utilise and therefore more expensive to our services using such equipment.

Cost and Calculating cost

considerate like this.
A = location where the motorbikes is.
B = location where the motorbike needs delivering to.

say for example you have a motorbike in Exeter, and you wish it transported to Newquay

Using http://maps.google.co.uk/
click on the "Get directions" option.

Enter "Tavistock, Devon" and "Exeter" in the other supplied box.
Then use the "get directions" button.
Then the system will tell you that the distances is 39.5 miles.
Repeat the same action with "Tavistock, Devon" and "Newquay" that is 54.4 miles
Repeat the action again but this time inputting "Exeter" and "Newquay" that is 82.7 miles.

As the distance between Newquay and Tavistock is further than the distance between Exeter and Tavistock that is the value used to calculate part of the cost.

54.4 miles between Newquay and Tavistock times 40p per mile.
The distance between Exeter Newquay being 82.7 miles is based on a cost-off 70p per mile.

This gives £21.76 at 40p are mile plus £57.89 at 70p per mile
total cost of £79.65 to transport and the motorbike for a Exeter to Newquay.

Here are some more examples that you can gauge the cost of transporting by.

Exeter to Plymouth
£46.80 as the minimum charge is £50 then this would cost £50 for this trip.
Poole to Exeter
£92.80
Cardiff to Torbay
£151.00
Birmingham to Barnstaple
£214.20

If the distance is more than 200 mile from the point of Pickup to the destination then the rate per mile drops to 60p per mile.

London to Plymouth
£266.40

Manchester to St Austell
£310.60

If the total travel time is excessive say for example trip from Portsmouth to Dundee. than an extra charge for overnight accommodation would be added.

Portsmouth to Dundee
£528.60 + £50 accommodation

Taivstock to Portsmouth = 169 mi – about 3 hours 30 mins
Portsmouth to Dundee = 552 mi – about 9 hours 21 mins
Dundee to Taivstock 513 mi – about 8 hours 40 mins

21 hours 31mins of driving

You should note; that postcodes are generally used rather than town name, is easier to understand and see the system using placements for real quotations and real prices are based on postcodes.
